因为俱乐部联赛，沧州名人球会有了自己的球队，也因为俱乐部联赛，队员们这些年走南闯北，积累了很多比赛经验，结交了各地的球友。队员王永明说：“俱乐部联赛在我们看来，始终是国内最正规、水平最高的业余高尔夫赛事。我们看待这项比赛，就像过节一样。参赛多年，光是在同组的球手中，我就结识了不少好朋友，现在到各地打球基本都有熟人。”对于俱乐部联赛的发展，王永明感受最深的就是参赛队员水平的大幅度提高。“我记得联赛刚创办的时候，球队的平均杆数82杆左右就能拿冠军。现在可大不一样了，打出七十多杆，甚至负杆的球手越来越多。整体水平的提高，督促着每一位参赛的球员努力练习。大家都希望为球队贡献力量。”球队队长王居顺也说：“为了在俱乐部联赛打出好成绩，我们最近两个月抓紧练习，在河北、天津等地打了很多场球，而且还经常去练习场，基本把空闲时间全用在练球上了。希望这次能好好发挥，再次直接晋级。”
