篮球作为第二大球，是世界流行的体育项目，国际篮联从2017年11月开始推行新赛制，仿照足球世界杯赛制，推出主客场预选赛，在四年一届的周期里，将有超过140支国家队在资格赛阶段亮相常规的主客场比赛，竞争各大洲杯赛和FIBA篮球世界杯的入场券。篮球在中国有着深厚的群众基础，中国篮球人口达3亿，数量世界第一，篮球职业联赛发展良好，篮球市场潜力巨大。2019年篮球世界杯已定在中国北京、上海等8个城市举办，参赛队伍也将从原来的24支扩大到32支。万达旗下盈方体育一直是世界篮球市场的重要参与者，盈方体育与中国篮协合作了十一年，推动CBA成为中国最成功的职业联赛之一。此次万达集团和国际篮联的战略合作占据天时地利，世界篮球运动将迎来一个全新时代。
库里在戴维森学院的记录不仅仅都是有关他自己的。在2007-2008赛季里，大二的库里带领戴维森学院野猫队在36场比赛中，一共得到2803分从而创造了球队记录。包括在那年的NCAA锦标赛中，野猫队以82-76战胜贡萨加大学，74-70淘汰乔治城大学以及73-56拿下威斯康辛大学。然而野猫队最终止步八强，57-59输给了当年锦标赛最后的冠军堪萨斯大学。
